Dear Karin,

I want you to know both how much I am enjoying your book, and how much
I am growing and learning from it in the breed. I am not sure but I
do not believe anything of this quality is available. Oh it may be,
but the environment is so competitive that hardly a single person in
the breed would whisper the name of your book to me, let alone tell me
that this present book is a second printing. In fact now I can see
how a certain few people I know who like to sound so knowledgeable and
'helpful' are probably simply referring to this wonderful writing when
they speak to me.

Honestly I cannot imagine why someone would not help their colleagues
when the life of the breed depends upon it. At least your book has
been a tremendous help, and a finding at just about the time I was
going to accept that I would just not understand many things for many
years.

You speak to my heart on many levels. I like the way you cover all
countries most of all. There is like an IRON CURTAIN that separates
everybody. Now I see these people are simply ignorant. I suspected
as much. I could not understand why there was hardly any interest in
the Boxers outside of the U.S.A. (when after all ours are beginning to
look so pitiful). Now I believe this is part of that selfish,
competitive spirit wherein the people would rather win a show than do
what is right (for the Boxer).

I am not yet finished with your book but I am so grateful to you for
writing it. The best I can do is expose the lie that "America has the
best Boxers." I'm so tired of this attitude as it rejects my
beautiful Boxers in it's ring. But show I do all the same. Yes,
America has done some magnificent things and I have enjoyed my
freedoms. But oftentimes that freedom includes rejecting anybody else
from it's vision. It is this lie that victimized me as a wallet for a
breeder out here who said that "A show Boxer just looks like this
(American Specimen)."

Your writing has taken me beyond my international vision to a complete
understanding of what the standard was intended to be. I will read
and reread your material! I take excerpts from it and post it on
Facebook - your name and credits disclosed every single time. There
at least people can see the truth about the breed and the standard it
is to represent. Simply magnificent! I am sure if I spoke German I
would know a lot more by now (Boxer Blatter, etc.).

Sincerely,
Darlyne Duffey

Your book arrived on my doorstep this morning. Thank you. I will read it with interest.

... nothing has changed, but if you look up my dalmatian dilemma paper on my website, everything written there on dalmatians/deafness and other breeds applies to Boxers.
